HITEC Power Protection takes a giant leap towards a greener future with HVO fuel

HITEC Power Protection is proud to announce a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Building on our ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, HITEC has successfully tested Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel on Cummins engines, achieving promising results that pave the way for a greener future.

All new HITEC Dynamic Rotary UPS systems are now offered as HVO compatible, and as standard, all engine and unit testing at our factory in Almelo is carried out using HVO. Additionally, we are proactively promoting the conversion to HVO to our existing customers, ensuring they can also benefit from this sustainable fuel option.

HVO fuel, a renewable diesel alternative, has shown remarkable benefits in our recent tests. One of the standout advantages is the substantial reduction in smoke and particulate matter emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment. While the power density of HVO fuel is marginally lower compared to conventional EN590 diesel, this does not typically result in lower unit net power ratings, maintaining the reliability and performance our customers expect from HITEC systems. HVO fuel complies with the EN15940 standard, ensuring excellent quality and performance. HITEC’s proactive decision to switch to HVO is supported by Cummins’ endorsement of HVO fuel for its engines, highlighting its reliability and compatibility.
